Privacy Policy
Effective July 10, 2026
LitStep is built to work without an account, advertising, analytics, or tracking. The developer, Daniil Parokonnyy, does not collect, receive, sell, or share your personal information through the LitStep app.
Information stored on your device
Your book titles, ideas, challenge plans, completion history, and reflections are stored locally on your iPhone using Apple’s on-device storage. We cannot see or access this information. You can delete individual challenges, delete all challenges in Settings, or remove all app data by deleting LitStep.
Book search
When you choose to search for a book, your search words are sent directly from your device to the Open Library service operated by the Internet Archive so that matching titles, authors, and cover images can be returned. LitStep’s developer does not receive or retain those searches. Open Library’s handling of network requests is governed by the Internet Archive’s own privacy policy.
On-device intelligence
On compatible Apple devices, LitStep may use Apple’s on-device language model to personalize a challenge from the idea and goal you provide. This processing happens on the device. LitStep does not send your book ideas or reflections to the developer or to a developer-operated server. When the feature is unavailable, LitStep uses a built-in challenge template.
Notifications
If you opt in, LitStep schedules local reminders on your device. The reminders do not require a LitStep server, and their contents are not sent to us. You can change notification permission at any time in iOS Settings.
Tracking, advertising, and purchases
LitStep contains no advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, third-party analytics, accounts, subscriptions, or in-app purchases.
Children’s privacy
Because LitStep does not collect personal information, it does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If the app’s data practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated before the change is released.
